The Elephant Lake Hotel is situated on the shores of the beautiful St Lucia Estuary, within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, South Africa’s first World Heritage Site.
The town of St Lucia is a mere 25 kilometres from the main N2 route between Durban and Swaziland, 75 kilometres South of Hluhluwe town and 80 kilometres North of Richards Bay.
From Durban King Shaka: International Airport
Take the N2 North – on the toll road or alternative route to Stranger. 40 kms after the turn-off to Richards Bay – turn right to Mtubatuba. As you arrive in Mtubatuba, turn left on the R618 to St Lucia and straight on for 25 kilometres.
From Johannesburg: Oliver Tambo International Airport
Taking the N12 towards Witbank, travel about 35 kilometres past the Middelberg turn-off, and turn left and then right over the N12 to Hendrina. Go through Ermelo, Piet Retief, and Pongola before continuing South along N2 past Mkuze and Hluhluwe. Take the left turn-off onto the R618 to Mtubatuba and St Lucia and travel a further 25 kilometres to town.
Once in St Lucia, turn right off of the R618 into McKenzie Street (the main road), and then second left into Mullet Street when you see a big wooden building, and a big red sign saying ‘HOTEL’. About 100 metres down the road on the right you will find the Elephant Lake Hotel.
